Reese Schroeder is the managing director of Motorola Solutions Venture Capital. His role is to actively review, invest in and manage the global minority equity opportunities strategic to Motorola Solutions core and emerging businesses. The mission of Motorola Solutions Venture Capital is to accelerate sustainable bottom line growth for Motorola Solutions through investments in new technologies, new businesses and new talent. Reese joined Motorola, Inc. in 1989. Prior to joining the venture capital team in 2004, Reese was a director in Motorola's Corporate Development and Strategic Transactions Group, where he was responsible for a wide variety of merger, acquisition and divestiture activity. During his tenure with Motorola, Reese also held a variety of positions in Motorola's wireless infrastructure business, including senior manager of the Contracts Department, commercial strategies manager for International Marketing, director of operations for Asia Pacific, and director of Global Alliance Development. Prior to joining Motorola, Reese was vice president of sales and administration for a midwest-based manufacturer of chemical transportation containers. He also engaged in the practice of law for a brief period of time. In 1981, Reese graduated from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. He received his law degree from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois in 1984.
