As GM/VP of New Business at Redbox, Jason Rubinstein leads new business initiatives, helping Redbox sustain its industry momentum as it just rented its two billionth disc and continues to see fast growth (more than 28 percent last year). Jason joined Redbox in 2009 to lead the company’s digital media division and was the architect of the recently announced joint venture with Verizon. His 22-year career arms him with a robust range of digital experience: he's held chief roles at some of the world’s leading technology and digital companies in various areas of the entertainment industry, including video games, music and telecommunications. Before joining Redbox, Jason led global product strategy for video entertainment and games at Motorola’s mobile devices business. Prior to that, he held executive roles at game publisher Ubisoft and streaming media startup Riffage. Jason has also co-founded venture-backed start-ups including PlayFirst (games) and Appolicious (media & apps). Jason’s list of professional accomplishments also includes holding key functions at Intel, managing market development for the company’s games and music industry initiatives during the first three generations of the Pentium® processor, and at DreamWorks Interactive. He is also an inventor and has 15 patents pending. Jason has degrees from Yale University and New York University.
